8.3.11 Sustained Support - Inservice Education for Public Health Staff
Health ministries and public health units were asked if they supported inservice for public health personnel to prevent HIV/AIDS, STD and to promote sexual health. About one-third of health ministries said that they did so regularly. Almost two-thirds of public health units said that they provided support for inservice of public health nurses regularly. They reported as follows:

Public health nurses reported on the inservice that they have received on issues related to HIV/sexuality. About one-half of nurses reported that they have had at least three inservice workshops on each of the topics of youth health promotion, sexuality and HIV/AIDS and STD.
